Join us for our next 8-Week Prenatal Pilates & Birth Preparation Course. Presented by Faye Wood and Hosted by Fleur Wellbeing Pilates Studio.
We combine routine, evidence-based information sessions with pilates and myofascial movement techniques to help women feel empowered in body, heart and mind as they step into motherhood.
DATES: Saturday the 17th Jan - Saturday 7th March 2026 (Every Saturday for 8 weeks).
(Special guests will be joining us on Saturday the 28th of February and Saturday the 7th of March.)
DURATION: 2 hours, from 11am - 1pm.
Saturday the 21st of Feb is Partner’s Day, and will run for 30mins longer from 11am-1:30pm.
COST: $600 upfront payment or $78 direct debited weekly.

What topics do we cover each week?
Education (45 minutes)
Each week includes evidence-based, woman-centred education designed to support informed decision-making, emotional wellbeing, and confidence in birth and motherhood. Content is delivered across eight gentle, easy-to-digest sessions, allowing time to truly embody the knowledge and build autonomy and empowerment.
Meditation (15 mins) Embodying the information through meditation & self-hypnosis to assist in pain management, relaxation and connection to baby.
Pilates (45mins) Feel good Pilates to assist with pregnancy-related aches and pains, as well as birth and postpartum recovery.
Weekly Education Topics
Week 1 — Hormones in Pregnancy & Birth: Understanding how hormones influence pregnancy, labour, and birth. Oestrogen, progesterone, cortisol, oxytocin, beta-endorphins & relaxin. Common pregnancy symptoms and supportive strategies
Week 2 — Psychological Preparation & Coping: Building emotional resilience for labour and the postpartum period. Stress and coping strategies. Understanding experience, knowing options & decision-making. Meaning-making in birth. Changes in the maternal brain.
Week 3 — A Woman-Centred Approach to Physiological Birth: Physiology of birth and the Ferguson reflex. Reclaiming birth as a rite of passage (inspired by Dr Rachel Reed).
Week 4 — Medicalised Birth & Hospital Protocols: Understanding interventions and how to navigate them. Induction, augmentation & assisted births. Effects on the Ferguson reflex. Optimising oxytocin. When caesarean sections are supportive and necessary.
Week 5 — The Fourth Trimester: Focused on healing, support, and early family life. The “Golden 3s”: 3 hours, 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months. Breastfeeding overview & the breast crawl. Crying, colic & infant sleep. Postnatal pledge for support people.
Week 6 — Matrescence & Identity - Special guest visit: Understanding the identity shift of motherhood. Emotional changes and mood awareness. Recognising PNDA. Self-care. Returning to work and competing devotions.
Week 7 — Partner Session: A collaborative and reflective week for birthing partners. Recap of key concepts. Questions and open discussion. Birth stories — all birth is normal. Pain management strategies. Creating a birth wish (rather than a rigid plan).
Week 8 — Postpartum Recovery: Guest physiotherapist session. Physical recovery and care after birth.
